Description

1977 Ford F150, Meet Moose. This was my Mom's truck, and nobody ever got around her in traffic! After moving to the metro area, driving a T1000, she went shopping for something like this! Frame-off restoration in 2002. You can see by the photos how well it has held up. This was a thorough project for a well-loved vehicle, not a sell-it-quick effort. Frame and chassis components sandblasted and undercoated for maximum protection. Most of the body panels were replaced, only the hood is original which brings me to the bullet hole in the center. Since a better hood could not be found anywhere in the country the original was used, and Mom insisted the bullet hole be kept intact to preserve the farm truck quality in this one way. The hole has been sealed, so water won't drip on the air cleaner anymore. The list of new components (replaced in '02) is rather extensive, including the gas tank and lines, radiator/hoses, PS pump/hoses, alternator/battery cables, exhaust, brakes, shocks, tie rods, ball joints, windshield and new fuel pump this spring. 351M was rebuilt 12,000 miles ago, and since the Ford ignition module was replaced with a Mallory unit, there have been absolutely no problems! Anyone who has driven a late-70's Ford can tell you stories about the ignition modules, and how many times they were stranded. The 4 barrel Edelbrock really unleashed the potential of this 351. New tires 4,000 miles ago; even if you want to change the exhaust or wheels, you'll want to keep these awesome tires - they really ride and handle great, and give the truck just the right stance. No lift has been done, so there are no issues inherent to many body lifts - it just looks and drives the way it should. Seat recently recovered with dual-texture vinyl like the original, only better quality.
